Submissive urination

Submissive or excited urination

This behavior is usually seen in dogs that wish to show complete submission or respect, and can also be tied to a neurological inability to control bladder functions during excitement. Corrections are unnecessary to curb this behavior, and may even exacerbate anxiety issues in the puppy later on.

If a dog is overly shy or submissive, make sure all new people in the puppy's life practice the no touch, no talk, no eye contact rule, until the puppy is ready to meet them.

--I'm so glad I read this. I was a little lost on what to do about this with Keeley. I'll have to start this ASAP.
